Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 8:50 a.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred in the parking lot of Halifax West High School. A 48-year-old male driver dropped off a 17-year-old passenger in front of the school. He looked to his left before pulling away, believing his passenger had walked behind the car. She had actually walked in front of the vehicle and the driver was unable to stop in time. The girl was unable to avoid being struck as there was a snowbank in her path and she fell to the ground. The girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was not issued a ticket given the circumstances.
