Shortly after 9 p.m. on January 4, East Division Patrol officers responded to the Metro Transit Bus Terminal located at 24 Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth. A complaint had been received from a security guard at that location who had witnessed a man threaten another man with a firearm. The suspect and two associates were then seen fleeing in a taxi. East Division officers flooded the area and quickly located the taxi on Grove Street. A high-risk vehicle stop was conducted and the three subjects were taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the taxi resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun and a pellet handgun. Three men from the Dartmouth area, aged 19, 20 and 25, are currently in police custody and will be held pending their appearance in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday, January 6. These accused will be facing numerous weapons related charges. The victim in this matter has not yet been located.
