Weapons charges

A man and a youth were in Dartmouth Court today to face weapons charges after they attempted to sell a shotgun at the Bridge Terminal yesterday afternoon. 

Police responded to a report of two young men who attempted to sell a shot gun at the Halifax Transit Bridge Terminal in Dartmouth. When they arrived on scene, police located the two suspects and took them into custody without incident. Following their arrest, officers located a sawed-off shot gun in a duffle bag which one of the suspects was carrying at the time of the arrest. 

A 14-year-old male youth from Dartmouth is charged with numerous weapon-related offences including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a weapon obtained by commission of an offence, weapons trafficking and possession with the purposes of  weapons trafficking. 

Nineteen-year-old Frederick Schofield of Dartmouth appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to answer to several weapon-related offences including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a weapon obtained by commission of an offence, weapons trafficking and possession with the purposes of weapons trafficking.
