Two men are in custody following weapon searches this morning in Dartmouth and Cole Harbour.
Last night, at 9:35 p.m., officers assigned to the East Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on Dorothea Drive in Dartmouth. The 18-year-old male driver was arrested without incident. Investigators from the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section with the help of the HRP Emergency Response Team and patrol officers, executed search warrants at residences on Arklow Drive in Cole Harbour and Best Street in Dartmouth this morning. Officers arrested a 20-year-old man at the Best Street address and recovered a firearm from the residence.
Both suspects are currently in custody. The investigation is continuing and charges are anticipated.
