There have been relatively few collisions within the core of HRM resulting from the weather and challenging driving conditions to this point. Motorists are reminded to be cautious, ensure you clear the snow from your vehicle before getting behind the wheel, slow down to speeds appropriate for the conditions and leave extra space between yourself and the vehicle in front of you.
Please note that HRM has implemented the Winter Parking Ban overnight tonight (no on-street parking from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.) Also, vehicle owners are reminded that they need to move vehicles off streets during any significant snowfall regardless of the municipal ban. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, if a vehicle is impeding snow removal, regardless of the time of day/year, it can be ticketed and potentially towed.
