Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section will lay charges against a woman in connection with a stabbing this morning in Halifax.

At approximately 3:52 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured man in an apartment in the 2400 block of Gottingen Street. The 68-year-old male victim, who had been stabbed, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had fled the scene before police arrival but was located as she exited the building carrying a knife. A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed to gain control of the suspect.

A fifty-eight-year-old Halifax woman is being charged aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and a breach of court order. She is being held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court tomorrow.
