Tuesday, April 28, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that starting today, April 28, Young Street between Barrington Street and Devonshire Avenue will be closed to traffic for several weeks to accommodate paving and sidewalk installation work.
This work will begin daily at 7 a.m. and continue until about 6 p.m. During that time, crews on site will accommodate access for local residents, as well as people needing to access the children’s day care, the doggy day care and Veith House.
This work is expected to continue on weekdays only until Friday, May 22. Young Street will reopen to all traffic in the evening and on weekends.
Motorists should expect delays in the area and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this street closure and road work may cause.
