Police have found no evidence of a bomb after responding to a threat at Saint Mary’s University this afternoon.
At approximately 12 p.m., police were contacted by the University’s security team in response to a bomb threat that had been received.
Police assisted with the evacuation of campus, including the University’s residences. Nearby streets were closed, and a sweep of the school was conducted by officers and the K9 Unit. No bomb or other suspicious materials were located during the search.
At approximately 2:55 p.m., the area was reopened after it was determined there was no threat to the public.
Dalhousie University also reported receiving a similar threat today. The investigation into both threats is ongoing.
