Drug charges

A man and a woman face charges after a drug search last Friday in Halifax. 

At 1:15 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 0 to 100 block of Melrose Avenue. Officers seized a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and cash. The suspects, who were in the residence at the time of the search, were arrested without incident.

Thirty-three-year-old Mike David Hilchey is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. He was held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today. Thirty-seven-year-old Jocelyn Leanne Hilchey is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. She was released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on March 25.
