Captain William Spry Youth Leadership

This month, youth from Captain William Spry will be hosting two events to support sustainability in the community.

Community Clean-Up – Wednesday, August 20 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Our youth leaders will be walking the outdoor perimeter of the facility, cleaning up litter and helping keep our space beautiful. Come show your support or join in!

Bottle Drive – Thursday, August 21 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Drop off your refundable cans and bottles at the centre — all proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Every bottle counts toward making dreams come true.

These events are part of our ongoing commitment to giving back. In July, our youth also volunteered at the Urban Farm in Spryfield and took part in another successful community clean-up.

YOUTH LEADERS GIVING BACK:

Cole Harbour Youth Leadership – Cards for Community (not a public event)

Youth Leaders from Cole Harbour Place are coming together to spread kindness in their community by creating handmade cards for residents in local assisted living housing. Youth Leaders are also supporting the local food bank by bringing in non-perishable items. It's a small way to make a big impact—sharing care, connection, and community spirit!

Chocolate Lake Youth Leadership – Community Activity (not a public event)

Youth Leaders from Chocolate Lake Centre visited schools in their community—bringing along bags full of sports equipment and crafts. They came ready to shoot hoops, play games, and spark creativity with younger kids. It was all about sharing joy by creating moments that bring our community closer together!
