At 9:53 p.m. on April 29, two 15 year old males called 911 to report that they were stranded on Paper Mill Lake Island in Bedford. The dingy they used to row to the island sprung a leak and deflated shortly after they arrived. Halifax Regional Police contacted Halifax Regional Search and Rescue, who used a canoe to rescue the teens from the island. The teens were medically cleared by EHS and returned home safely.
