The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to participate in a survey regarding an accessible taxi-style service.
On Feb. 23, 2021, Regional Council gave approval to contract for a private, on-demand accessible taxi service. Under this new program, the municipality will pay a fee to the contracted company to provide an accessible taxi-style service, while users will pay the standard taxi rate for trips.
Feedback from this survey, along with stakeholder engagement, will be used to create a framework for how this service will operate.
The survey is open until Friday, Aug. 13.

La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax invite les résidents à participer à un sondage concernant un service de taxi accessible.
Le 23 février 2021, le Conseil régional a approuvé un contrat pour un service privé de taxi accessible sur demande. Dans le cadre de ce nouveau programme, la municipalité paiera les frais à l’entreprise sous contrat pour fournir un service de taxi accessible, alors que les utilisateurs paieront le tarif de taxi standard pour les déplacements.
Les réponses à ce sondage, ainsi que les consultations auprès des intervenants, seront utilisées pour créer un cadre de fonctionnement pour ce service.
