ENAt approximately 9:50 a.m. police responded to a report of a body in the water below the McKay Bridge in the area of Africville Road. A man’s body was recovered from the water with the assistance of Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency, and turned over to the Medical Examiner Service. Due to the circumstances, the investigation has been turned over to the Department of Labour to determine if this resulted from a work place incident.

ENFifteen years ago, William MacDonald was murdered in Dartmouth and investigators with the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate his death.

ENHalifax Regional Police confirm that the body of the man who is believed to be the victim of drowning yesterday evening in Halifax has been located.

ENOn July 8th at approximately 6:35 pm a 911 call was received of a male that was possibly drowning in Chocolate Lake in Halifax. A joint response was conducted by both Halifax Regional Police and Halifax Regional Fire. Extensive efforts were made by Police, Fire and members of the public to locate the male however these efforts were unsuccessful. It is believed that the male drowned as a result of the incident.
