5.1 STAFF
5.1.1 2026 MLSER Major Hosting Events [PDF]
Motion:
That the Special Events Advisory Committee recommend Halifax Regional Council:

1. Approve an event grant in the amount of $90,000 from the 2025/2026 Community and Events Reserve, Q621 to fund the 2026 U SPORTS Men’s University Cup; and

2. Pending approval of the 2026/2027 budget, approve an event grant in the amount of $1,000,000 from the Community and Events Reserve, Q621 to fund the 2026 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships.

5.1.2 Proposed 2026 Meeting Schedule [PDF]
Motion:
That the Special Events Advisory Committee approve the proposed 2026 Special Events Advisory Committee meeting schedule as outlined in the staff memorandum.

6.1 PERSONNEL MATTER – Private and Confidential Report
A matter pertaining to an identifiable individual or group.
Motion:
That the Special Events Advisory Committee recommend Halifax Regional Council: 
1. Adopt the recommendations as outlined in the private and confidential report dated November 10, 2025; and 
2. Direct that the private and confidential report dated November 10, 2025 be maintained private and confidential.
