Halifax Regional Police is investigating two incidents where people were assaulted, and property was damaged in Halifax yesterday.

The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating a matter involving the arrest of a person that resulted in a broken nose.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that speed limits will be reduced from 50 km/h to 40 km/h in the residential area of Herring Cove. The impacted streets are highlighted in the attached map and include the area bounded by Ketch Harbour and Hebridean Drive.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the municipal overnight winter parking ban is in effect from December 15, 2023 through March 31, 2024. The overnight winter parking ban is enforced from 1 to 6 a.m. during declared weather events and snow removal operations only.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to its annual live New Year’s Eve celebrations, taking place on Sunday, Dec. 31 at the Emera Oval, located at the Halifax Commons. This will be the first time the municipal New Year’s Eve concert and national broadcast are taking place at the Oval.
