The 2026 Community Grants Program is closed.
Program summary
The program provides annual cash grants to registered non-profit organizations and charities located throughout the Halifax region. There are two types of grants: a project grant of up to $5,000 OR a capital grant of up to $25,000.
Applicants should review the program guidebook prior to submitting an application. First time applicants are encouraged to contact staff prior to submitting an application. The 2026 program materials can be found below:

- Final report form Successful program applicants (2025 and 2026) must submit the final report form. Please ensure you save changes to the final reporting form before sending via email.
Please note:
- Inquiries for affordable housing grants should made to the municipality's Affordable Housing Grant Program.
Grants for Registered Heritage Property Restoration owned by a non-profit organization must now apply to the Heritage Incentives Grant Program.
