NOTICE OF APPROVAL 
BY-LAW N-207, RESPECTING NOISE

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law N-207, Respecting Noise was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on August 23, 2022.

By-law N-207, as set out in Attachment B of the July 16, 2021 staff report, amends By-law N-200, Respecting Noise. The purpose of the amendment is to change the end hours for construction noise hours to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday, and rock breaking hours to 8 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday. The amendments also provide for a new staff exemption process to set construction noise hours subject to certain conditions.

NOTICE OF APPROVAL 
BY-LAW S-450, RESPECTING CHARGES FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that By-law S-450, Respecting Charges for Street Improvements was adopted by Halifax Regional Council on November 8, 2022.

By-law S-450 amends By-law S-400, Respecting Charges for Street Improvements. The purpose of the amendment is to impose local improvement charges to recover a portion of the cost of paving HRM and Provincially owned and maintained gravel roads for Bayshore Drive, Tidal Way, Delmerle Drive, Birchpond Court, Tara Drive, River Court, and Maple Drive.

NOTICE OF SECOND READING
BY-LAW U-112 RESPECTING USER CHARGES

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Halifax Regional Municipality will consider the adoption of By-law U-112 at a meeting of Regional Council to be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in the Halifax Council Chamber, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax.

By-law U-112 will amend By-law U-100, Respecting User Charges. The purpose of the amendment is to introduce new transit electronic fare options. 

The Council will receive written submissions from interested persons concerning the above by-law at the November 22, 2022 session of Council.
