In response to a media release disseminated on November 30, 2017 requesting information leading to the identification of the driver of a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision resulting in a pedestrian being struck in a crosswalk, the driver of the vehicle voluntarily came forward and contacted police on December 1, 2017.
After a police investigation, which included speaking to the driver, a 66-year-old Halifax man was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Police would like to thank the driver for coming forward and doing the right thing.

Mayor Mike Savage and members of Regional Council are inviting residents to join them at this weekend’s lighting of the Dartmouth Christmas Tree. On November 27, Halifax Regional Police received a call from an adult male employee of Starbucks Coffee, 32 Foulis Row Dartmouth, who stated while he was emptying the trash at the rear of the business at 5:25 p.m., a male approached him and assaulted him with a sharp object resulting in a minor facial injury.
