HARBOUR EAST-MARINE DRIVE COMMUNITY COUNCIL
TAKE NOTICE THAT Harbour East - Marine Drive Community Council did, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, approve the following application:
Application by Steven Addison for a development agreement to allow an addition to the existing commercial building at 667 Highway 7 in Westphal (Gateway Meat Market).
Any aggrieved person, the Provincial Director of Planning, or the Council of any adjoining municipality may, within fourteen days of the publishing of this notice on the HRM website, appeal to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (902.424.4448), in accordance with the provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.

Request
Application by Steven Addison for a development agreement to allow an addition to the existing commercial building at 667 Highway 7 in Westphal (Gateway Meat Market).
Proposal
The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:
- Lot consolidation of 667 Hwy 7 and 671 Hwy 7 (plan registered Nov.8, 2023)
- Demolition of existing structures at 671 Hwy 7 (demolition permit issued June 5, 2023)
- Two storey addition to existing commercial building at 667 Hwy 7 (701 sqm / 7546 sqft)
- Alteration of existing façade and side walls to create flat roofs across the entirety of the building
- Pedestrian covered walkway at new front entrance of building
The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to the proposed addition, traffic impact analysis, and servicing.
Process
The application will be considered under the Development Agreement process.
Status
This application was approved by Harbour East-Marine Drive Community Council on May 2nd, 2024.
