Notice of Approval
The planning documents have been reviewed by the Provincial Department of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations as per Section 223 of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter. In accordance with Section 223 of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter, these amendments become effective as of the date of this notice.
The planning documents can be inspected at HRM Planning and Development, 40 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth, during regular business hours.
HALIFAX AND WEST COMMUNITY COUNCIL
TAKE NOTICE THAT Halifax and West Community Council did, on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, approve the following application:
Case 22485 - Application by Doug Hubley requesting to rezone lands at 3620 Highland Avenue,. Halifax from R-2 (General Residential) Zone to the R-2T (Townhouse) Zone to allow the construction of a townhouse building.
TAKE NOTICE THAT Halifax and West Community Council did on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 approve the following applications:
Case 21952 - Application by WM Fares Architects to discharge an existing development agreement and enter in to a new development agreement on two residential properties located at Civic 50, 60 and 70 Armstrong Court, Halifax to allow a 7-storey addition to an existing multi-unit residential building at 60-70 Armstrong Court.
Case 22177 - Application by W.M. Fares Architects to enter into a development agreement to allow an 8-storey mixed use building on lands at 6160 Almon Street and 2760 Gladstone Street, Halifax.
NORTH WEST COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Case 21859 - Studioworks International Inc., on behalf of property owners Crombie Developments Limited and Beukema & Nelson Independent Consultants Incorporated, to rezone portions of lands at 665- 685 Old Sackville Road and 750 Sackville Drive to DC-3 (Downsview Complex 3) to enable the construction of three multi-unit dwellings.
TAKE NOTICE THAT Halifax Regional Council did, on January 14, 2020 adopt amendments to the Halifax Municipal Planning Strategy and Halifax Mainland Land Use By-law:
Case 21730 - Application by KWR Approvals Inc., on behalf of Pathos Properties Inc. to amend the Halifax Municipal Planning Strategy and Halifax Mainland Land Use By-law, to enable the consideration of a development agreement for an 8-storey residential/commercial development, including 18 affordable housing units, at 205 Bedford Highway, Halifax.
Case 17272 - Amendments to the Bedford Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and the Land Use By-law (LUB) for Cushing Hill (Commercial Comprehensive Development District area and adjacent lands), Bedford.
Regional Centre Plan - The Regional Centre Secondary Municipal Planning Strategy and Regional Centre Land Use By-law are now in effect. The Regional Municipal Planning Strategy, the Regional Subdivision By-law, the Dartmouth Municipal Planning Strategy, the Dartmouth Land Use By-law, the Downtown Dartmouth Municipal Planning Strategy, the Downtown Dartmouth Land Use By-law, the Halifax Municipal Planning Strategy, the Halifax Peninsula Land Use By-law, and the Downtown Halifax Land Use By-law have all been amended.
