Just after 10 a.m. on June 16, police attended the area of 1698 Bedford Highway. A 61-year-old man was operating a ride-on lawn mower on the grounds of a church on Rocky Lake Drive. It appears that he rolled over a steep hill, which leads to the Bedford Highway. EHS attended, however, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our thoughts go out to the family at this very difficult time.

At 8 p.m. on June 15, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Queen Mary Dispensary located at 1534 Queen Street in Halifax. Staff reported that two men entered the business, approached a staff member, and one suspect produced a firearm and demanded staff put product in a suitcase. The suspects fled the business on foot towards Citadel Hill with an undisclosed amount of product. Then fled in a grey coloured vehicle.

Police have arrested two men in relation to a rash of robberies that occurred in Dartmouth over the past several weeks. On June 15 at 4:32 p.m., on Hamilton Road in Pictou County, RCMP members arrested a 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, both from Dartmouth.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that Windmill Road will be closed in both directions on Saturday from Wright Avenue to Lynch Estates Court to facilitate the installation of a large overhead directional sign located in front of the Fairly and Stevens car dealership (the rain date will be Sunday).
