On August 29 at 8:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man in the 60-70 block of Stratford Way, Halifax that was trying to destroy a structure portion of a building.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Pockwock Road from Old Annapolis Road to Hammonds Plains Road on Saturday, August 29. Crews will be onsite form 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that due to the presence of a possible blue-green algae bloom, a risk advisory is in effect for the Shubie Canal pond near Fairbanks Centre in Dartmouth. Residents are encouraged to avoid swimming and water contact in the area until further notice.
