Early in the morning on August 12, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) received a report from a citizen regarding a theft involving an HRP officer in Halifax. After conducting a preliminary investigation, a male HRP officer was arrested. The matter has been referred to the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) for further investigation.

On August 11, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to the 1100 block of Old Sambro Road, Harrietsfield to assist with traffic while Halifax Regional Fire Service responded to a structure fire. The commercial building was not occupied at the time and no one was injured. There was significant damage to the building as a result of the fire.

Halifax Regional Police approached a man who was panhandling in the area of Bayers Road and Connaught Avenue in Halifax at approximately 5:50 p.m. on August 11. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant and fled on foot from police into a restaurant in the 6500 block of Bayers Road.
