The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 Heritage Gas will be completing road work on Cunard Street between Gottingen Street and Maynard streets.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising motorists and pedestrians there will be intermittent traffic signal disruptions beginning tomorrow and lasting until Tuesday (weekdays only), at various intersections in Bedford and Halifax.

Halifax Regional Council today approved the recommendation by the Board of Police Commissioners to appoint Dan Kinsella as the next Halifax Regional Police Chief after a nation-wide search. Mr. Kinsella, who is currently Deputy Chief of Operations for Hamilton Police, assumes his new role on July 1, 2019.

At 9:20 p.m. on April 29, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of weapons call at Berkley Brae/Glenwood Avenue in Dartmouth. A caller reported to 911 that he was assaulted in his vehicle by three males who exited another vehicle while at a stop sign. The caller sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital and his vehicle was damaged.

Police have charged multiple people after conducting a search on two separate illegal cannabis dispensaries last week.

At 11:50 p.m. on April 28, police responded to the 0-100 block of Fraser Road in Williamswood to a report of a vehicle fire. Police discovered a Ford F150 fully engulfed in flames. Investigators are treating the fire as suspicious. No surrounding properties were damaged.

At 10:53 p.m. on April 28, Halifax Regional Police responded to the intersection of Albro Lake Road and Pincrest Drive in Dartmouth to a report of a male pointing a Tazer.
