Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee approve the proposed 2019 meeting schedule as outlined in Attachment A of the staff report dated November 7, 2018.

12.1.2 Councillor Appointments to Boards/Committees [PDF]

Motion:
That Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee:
1. Appoint one (1) members to the Executive Standing Committee for a term to November 2020.
2. Nominate two (2) members to the Heritage Advisory Committee for a term to November 2020. 
3. Nominate one (1) member to Discover Halifax for a term to November 2020. 
4. Nominate one (1) member to the Halifax Partnership for a term to November 2020. 
5. Nominate the Chair or Designate from the Community Planning & Economic Development Standing Committee membership to the Community Design Advisory Committee for a term to November 30, 2020.

Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee receive a staff presentation regarding an update on the Centre Plan.

12.2  HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

12.2.1 Blasting By-law B-600 Review [PDF]

Motion:
That the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee request a staff report reviewing Blasting By-law B-600 to examine the impact of blasting on heritage properties, as well as identifying and incorporating adequate measures to mitigate damage to heritage properties caused by blasting.

14.1.1 Citizen Nominations to Heritage Advisory Committee

Motion:
That Community Planning & Economic Development Standing Committee recommend that Halifax Regional Council:
1. Nominate four residents at large to the Heritage Advisory Committee for a term to November 30, 2020 as outlined in Attachment # 1 of the private and confidential staff report dated November 5, 2018.
2. Nominate one resident at large to fill an unexpired term to November 30, 2019 as outlined in Attachment # 1 of the private and confidential staff report dated November 5, 2018.
3. Nominate an alternative for first consideration when/if a vacancy occurs during the term.
4. That the names of the successful appointees be released to the public following ratification and notification of applicants.
5. That the November 5, 2018 private and confidential staff report not be released to the public.
