ENAt 9:30 p.m. on May 17, police responded to the Spring Garden Café News Stand located at 5681 Spring Garden Road in Halifax to a report of a robbery. A man entered the business, attempted to steal some items, and when confronted by staff, he produced a knife.

ENAt 5:45 p.m. on May 17, Police responded to the 600 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth to a report of a man with an axe. Responding officers located the man in the middle of the road and he was swinging the axe in a threatening manner.

ENAt approximately 1:23 a.m. on May 17, police responded to a robbery in progress at the Irving gas station located at 2499 Robie Street, Halifax. A woman entered; stated she had weapon and demanded cash. No weapons were seen. The woman fled on a bicycle towards North Street. Members of the K-9 Unit attended but were unable to locate the woman.
