Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred this evening in Halifax.

On January 14 at approximately 10:55 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapon call on Courtney Road, Dartmouth. A youth was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of a gunshot wound to his leg.

On January 12 at 3:32 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of a collision where a vehicle struck a utility pole, breaking it off at the base, in the 6100 block of Young Street, Halifax.

On January 12 at at 2:06 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gun shots at 649 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a shooting had taken place with several bullet holes in the main floor of the residence, no one was injured. A number of officers are currently on scene, including Forensic Identification.

On January 12 at 1:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to multiple reports of a break and enter in progress at an apartment building in the 60 block of Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. Officers subdued and arrested the suspect when he was found assaulting another tenant.

On January 9 at 2:54 p.m., an off-duty Halifax Regional Police officer observed a physical assault between two men in the 2000 block of Gottingen Street, Halifax.

On January 5 at approximately 9:25 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to Mobile Gas at 1145 Barrington Street, Halifax for a robbery that had just occurred.

At 4:23 p.m. on January 1, Halifax Regional Police and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency responded to a structure fire inside an apartment building in the 5500 block of Victoria Road, Halifax. Multiple callers reported seeing smoke within the building.
