The Oval Supervisor will assist the Community Recreation Coordinator, and Senior Special Events Coordinator with daily supervision of programs and events held at the Oval and summer festival site. The Supervisor will be managing staff; program staff and volunteers for the delivery of daily inline and roller skating programs and events held at the Oval. The Supervisor will ensure participants have a safe and enjoyable experience during the wide variety of activities and events held at the Oval.

For summer inline/roller skating programs and public skating sessions. Skating Monitors will work as part of the HRM Skating Oval team to monitor public skating and provide outstanding customer service for all participants. Skating Monitors will ensure the Oval is a safe, fun and festive atmosphere for all skating activities and events.

This position is responsible for collaborating with the Community Recreation Coordinators, and Summer Coordinators in the areas of training, developing and implementing in the delivery of inclusive recreation programs during the summer months. Responsible for coaching and assisting summer staff in the areas of intakes, implementing behaviour management strategies, providing personal care and the development of inclusive program modification to support inclusive programming. The candidate will also be responsible for the provision of hands-on support to meet operational requirements upon commencement of summer programs.

The Summer Inclusion Support Staff supports persons with disabilities in recreation programs (i.e. personal care, lifting procedures, adapting activities, etc). May be required to develop specific program plans. Responsible for daily duties such as greeting children, speaking to parents/guardians and ensuring open communication on the needs of the children. Also responsible for organizing supplies and equipment, preparing daily activities, attending staff meetings, and ensuring the safety of all program participants. Ensures children with disabilities are welcomed and included in all day camp activities.

The Summer Youth Live Vehicle Operator will work with full time staff and summer operations assistants to help with Youth Live's Green Cart Delivery & Repair operation. If successful in obtaining this position, you will be based out of Youth Live Warehouse and Admin Office (1300 St. Margaret’s Bay Road, Beechville). You’ll be given training and supervision to get started with the green cart operation.

The Summer Recreation Youth Live Operations Assistant will work with full time Youth Operations Workers and youth participants to help supervise and run Youth Live's business operations. If successful in obtaining this position, you will be placed at one of our two work locations for the summer. You’ll be given training and supervision to get started in each of our operations. You will supervise the youth in the program to make sure we are providing excellent customer service and meeting our deadlines.

The Summer Community Arts Support Coordinator will work with community art staff, summer recreation staff, program instructors and various community groups and organizations. The Coordinator will work with staff and community to design community arts projects, and assist with assessing and managing risks associated with various community art projects and place-making events. The position may be responsible for supervising volunteers during an event day. The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating set up and take down of equipment and transportation of supplies for events and programs.
