Support/advice HRM affinity groups such as the Racially Visible Employee Caucus (RVEC), the African Nova Scotian and visible minority women network & the Association of the Black Firefighters
Led the establishment of the Diverse Voices for change, a local working group of visible minority women of various demography across HRM
Works with HRM Finance department to provide support on the Land Title Clarification Acts Project, led by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
Provide expertise and advice to the community safety committee in the development of strategies to address gun violence impacting African Nova Scotian communities.
Leads and supports HRM and its department in planning events/initiatives/learning opportunities to acknowledge and celebrate African Heritage Month.
Support and advice to Planning and Development to engage the ANS community of Beechville with respect to issues surrounding a proposed development agreement
Work with Halifax Economic Growth Plan strategy team on project charter for the development of ANS Economic Development Action Plan.
Work with the provincial office of African Nova Scotian Affairs on a tri-community initiative in response to the UN International Decade for People of African Descent
Developed and offer “Reaching out from an Africentric Place” to all HRM employees monthly to provide education on culturally proficient ways and specific strategies to engage African Nova Scotian communities and address Anti-Black racism.
Leads “Community Circles” to share HRM information on specific services and opportunities with ANS communities, and to have mutual dialogue to identify barriers facing ANS community members
Provide support for engagement and logistics to the Mobile Food Market program in North Preston
