A Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) Identification card can be used to obtain free travel on Halifax Transit's bus and ferry services.
Transit passes
Monthly Halifax Transit passes can be purchased from Transit retail partners. They are available beginning on the 20th of each month until the 10th of the following month.
Halifax Transit’s EPass program offers an annual discounted transit pass that can be purchased by employees of SmartTrip members through payroll deduction. Find more information here.
Halifax Transit’s UPass program offers students an annual discounted transit pass as part of the enrollment fee paid to the educational institution. Find more information here.
Transfers
Transfers are valid for up to 90 minutes after the end of the route and can be used on all Halifax Transit routes and services.
Please note:
- Punch marks are used to specify the issue date, and torn off to indicate the transfers’ expiration time.
- Passengers must request a transfer upon boarding the bus or ferry when making their initial fare payment.
- Additional transfer fares are required for MetroX service. Please refer to the fare chart above.
