The Halifax Transit team would like to acknowledge the comments we are receiving from passengers about our “Love in Transit” contest. We are listening and take your feedback very seriously.
To be clear, Halifax Transit has zero tolerance for all forms of verbal, physical or sexual harassment, gender-based violence, or any behaviour that causes harm to others on our buses and ferries. We strongly encourage those who experience harassment on transit to contact 311 or Halifax Regional Police, so we can investigate and address these issues accordingly.
Although the goal of our campaign was to hear positive stories from you to lift our collective spirits as we approach Valentine’s Day, we recognize that some of you have taken offense and for that, we sincerely apologize. It was genuinely not our intention.
We appreciate all feedback to help us improve our outreach and engagement efforts, in the spirit of diversity and inclusion, and thank those who have contributed some very positive stories as part of this campaign. The team at Halifax Transit continues to make improvements to our code of conduct guidelines and policies based on the feedback you provide.
We encourage all passengers to visit our website for more information about passenger conduct and prohibited behaviours.
