Ferry
(Tuesday, April 7, 2026) The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Vincent Coleman ferry is no longer expected to return to service at the end of March as previously announced. As a result, the Alderney ferry will continue operating every 30 minutes on weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., until further notice.

Update – Alderney Ferry service reduction until further notice
(Monday, Jan. 12, 2026) Please be advised that the Alderney Ferry service is running on a 30 min schedule until further notice, due to maintenance. Ferries will depart Alderney at XX:00 & XX:30. Ferries will depart Halifax at xx:15 & xx:45. Woodside Ferry service is not impacted at this time. Shuttles will be provided.
