Transom Drive Park is a two-hectare park located at 195 Transom Drive, Bedford. It was obtained by the municipality in 2007 as part of the surrounding subdivision development. The park has a playground and a large double tennis court, but most of it remains in an unfinished state.
The intent of the park plan for Transom Drive Park is to improve the site’s existing layout, function, and the use of existing facilities. Once approved by Regional Council, the plan will be used to guide future park improvements.
Due to feedback from former Councillor Tim Outhit and discussions with the community, the need to develop a plan that would guide future park enhancements was identified in the 2024/2025 Parks & Recreation Business Plan.
Information gathered from site visits, analysis and past community submissions about the park have been used to develop a concept plan and two options for court layouts. The plans were included in a survey for review by the local community. Feedback will be used to refine the final park plan, which will be presented to Regional Council for approval. Once adopted, the proposed improvements will be included within forthcoming budget cycles.

Early 2026 – The Transom Drive Park Plan will be presented to the Community Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee and will then proceed to Regional Council for final approval.
Subsequent Budget Cycles: Once approved, the plan will be used to guide future improvements to Transom Drive Park. Final implementation and phasing will be dependent on the availability of future capital budgets. Changes to the plan’s final concept may also occur as it progresses into the detailed design phase.
