Viscount Run Park

Viscount Run Park Concept Plan

Updated March 24, 2020

Since the fall of 2019, Parks and Recreation staff have worked with the Kingswood North community to develop the safe, accessible, and sustainable use of Viscount Run Park. Park plans are useful tools to direct park enhancements over time and to ensure that work is in-keeping with public expectation. To accommodate this process, the park planning project was added to the Parks and Recreation 2019/2020 budget and business plan.

The proposed park plan was approved by Regional Council on September 22, 2020. Stay tuned for project updates.

Requests for additional project information can be directed to Stephen Cushing, Landscape Architect, Parks and Recreation.

Background
A public workshop was held on November 21, 2019 at the Kingswood Elementary School to discuss opportunities for Viscount Run Park. Staff delivered a brief presentation and led a workshop where participants identified issues and opportunities and shared their vision for the park. A written and visual summary of the event are available for review.

As a follow up to the workshop, a public open house was held on March 12, 2020 at the Kingswood Elementary School. Members of the community were in attendance to review a park concept and to provide feedback on design and layout options. For those who could not attend, a sample of the open house visuals are available for review.
