Nature Play Parent & Tot

Location: Fleming Park, Halifax and Shubie Park, Dartmouth.
Summary: Play time spent outdoors exploring, discovering and learning. Nature crafts, activities and games. Scavenger hunts, painting trees with water, loose parts play and nature walks!

Compass Fun

Summary: Learn some basics about how to use a compass and then practice in a fun way by completing the challenge set up in the park. Receive your prize upon completion!

Loose Parts Play

Summary: Join us in a great space in the woods for some creative and imaginative play using natural materials as well as ones provided. Think forts, mud pies, and all of that good ol’ fashioned fun! Put on your closed-toe footwear and some clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and let’s explore! (Family. Each person attending must be pre-registered. Children must be accompanied by an adult.)

Hug-A-Tree
Start date: Sunday, October 18, 2020
Ages: 5-12
Location: Fleming Park, Shubie Park, Acadia Park, Jerry Lawrence Park
Summary: The Hug-A-Tree and Survive program is a nationally recognized program created by AdventureSmart. This program helps teach children how not to become lost in the woods and what to do should they become lost. This is an interactive presentation. All participants will receive a certificate and whistle upon completion. Children must be accompanied by an Adult 19+.

Introduction to Trail Walking

Summary: This program is an introduction to day hiking and will include basic instruction on safety, gear, what to wear and what to bring, as well as how to find resources for further exploration.

Women’s Intro to Trail Walking in HRM

Summary: Join other women in appreciating the outdoors through guided walks, from Adventure Earth Centre's experience and professionally trained staff.
