2020 has been a challenging year for organizers of public events within our region. Many traditional programs and events were unable to proceed in light of COVID-19. The Special Events Task Force continues to work with event organizers to help identify programs and activities that meet the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness guidelines and restrictions for mass gatherings.
The final decision to proceed with an event lies with the event organizer, who will have the care and control of the final program while ensuring the requirements outlined by the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness are met.

Halifax Regional Municipality also requires all event and program organizers using municipal owned property to sign a COVID-19 waiver before the municipality will permit any park or street activity to proceed. The waivers can be found here:
