More advanced search options are available through the desktop version.
You can search the descriptions of approximately 70 per cent of the Municipal Archives and Reference Collection holdings.
Some notes to help your search:
- Published reports and books from the Reference Collection are catalogued as items.
- Archival records are first described as high-level series, not item-by-item, although some photographs, maps, and plans do have item-level representation in the database.
- This database contains links to some digital content (i.e., scans of documents or photographs), but foremost it is a catalogue of the Archives’ holdings—you can search for types of records, dates, records creators, the activities or functions documented—but not for the actual content of the records.
- Explore the Advanced Search options to narrow your search by date, by type of format (e.g. only photographs), or only those with digital copies available, etc.
Contact the Municipal Archives if you do not find what you were looking for, or to enquire if there are unprocessed records relevant to your research (also check for new acquisitions).
